I have depression and SAD. I take meds for depression and its helping but did little for my SAD. Based on what I read, neurotin looks like it works for alot of people. I'm already taking prozac wellbutrin and risperdal.

The only thing I can think of is to increase your meds when the SAD occurs. I don't have SAD so I don't really know. Maybe someone else can help.

I like to know also. I've tried increasing various meds to no avail and have done light therapy for the past 2 weeks to no avail. Guess that's $250 down the drain. Very frustrated.

It takes more than two weeks for light therapy to work if the depression is already full-blown. It's important to use a lightbox to prevent the seasonal dips and downs.
In the meantime, keep trying meds.

I agree--a light box will take more than two weeks to start working if you are already in the throes of depression, and that it is best to use it preventively. With depression already in action, it will take longer. Plus, make sure you are using the light box correctly and sufficiently. I think a lot of people use it but for only a fraction of the time they need to, etc.
As for meds, I guess one thing it depends on is your symptoms. Are you having so called 'atypical' symptoms? Hypersomnia, etc.?
What have you tried?

After spending a few hundred dollars on a full spectrum light box and using it EXACTILY as directed for a month my depression had not lifted. Not to say that there is'nt research out there testifing to the effectiveness of full spectrum light therapy, it just didn't work for me. You might want to consider other options, with your doc of cource before you invest the time and money in a light box.
