Straterra- anyone procrastinate less, more alert?

Posted by utopizen on January 6, 2004, at 11:37:33

I have soc. anx. disorder, narcolepsy, and ADD. I procrastinate a lot too.

I was thinking of Straterra to help with these things, on top of my Desoxyn for ADD+narcolepsy and nightly use of Xyrem for narcolepsy.

Does Straterra make you at first tired, then more alert? Procastinate less, versus being on a stim alone? All stims seem to do is make me talk a lot and write a lot and Google a lot, but work-wise, I have to be in the library and awake... and being awake is often a lost cause...

Straterra is an anti-cataplectic

I was wondering if you still hung around this board, since you're the only other person around here with narcolepsy that I know of. Strattera is a powerful anti-cataplectic, so it's good for sleep paralysis and hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucinations, the subsidiary symptoms of narcolepsy. It does make me feel more awake. I do feel more motivated, too, overall a feeling of emotional activation. It doesn't feel anything like a stimulant.

You're joking- more awake than when you were on an amphetamine?? I am not optimistic at all about Straterra, but wish I tried it over the summer. What dose are you taking, how quickly did you escalate the dose, and what were your initial side effects? Insomnia? AM or PM dosing?

My email's [email protected] (remove the -nospam) - I need to talk to someone to bounce ideas off of. Thanks!!!
