HI..Ive been on 5 mgs of Lexapro for 4weeks...Last week I upped the dosage to 7 1/2 mgs, which I could tell really made a difference.I was like on speed,Couldnt stop cleaning, but tired at the same time.helped with the anxiety as well as the depression.About 4 days ago I upped the dosage to 10 mgs,and feel that Im back to having problems with anxiety again, have lost the energy also.I had a lot of anxiety the first 2 weeks starting Lex.Is this due to me encreasing the dosage and is normal,or maybe should I just go back down to 7 1/2 mgs since it seemed to work at that level. Is it possible that 10 mgs is too much for me..Im very sensitive to meds, guess having extreme anxeity has something to do with that.any and all feedback is very much appreciated...take care everyone :)

I experienced some of what you describe, went nuts cleaning, even took a toothbrush and scrubbed edges & corners in bathrooms. Felt like I was on speed, husband commented on it too.
I started @5mg, went to 10mg week 5, then 20mg month 5. I thought it was a side effect of lex at the time, don't have it anymore, seem to be back to *normal*, and coping w/each day...no more cleaning sprees lately.
You might try cutting back to 7.5 if that seemed to work for you. I too felt increases anxiety w/increase in dose, but it did go away.
Best of luck!~~~8|8

Thank You so much for the response !!! Yes I have cleaned just about everything in my house that can be cleaned (which guess is a good thing) I just cant seem to stop :) just dont like the encreased anxiety.I will take your advice and cut it back down to 7 1/2 since it did seem to be better at that dosage...Hope you have a wonderful day and take care :)

Sometimes I think you have to make some side-effects work to your advantage. I know when I am really really depressed I can barely get out of bed some days...so if even if you do have increased anxiety, at least you def. CAN get out of bed and be productive! And I have heard that the anxiety side-effect of Lexapro (which I personally have never experienced) tends to go away/diminish before long. Best of luck!
