I am seeking positive experiences from people taking strattera. i am not enthused about concerta because the refill every month is a hassle and I'd like to see and get posts that say strattera does help with adhd and also with mild depressive and anxiety symptoms for some people and i'd sure like to know. I am staring down at wellbutrin again and don like the sweats, toothache, anxiety and clammy skin and the anxiety I am trying to deal with. THis is kind of my last hope because wellbutrin helps but a cost in side effects that i dont want.

I have not taken straterra but I have read posts from other people who said that it helped their concentration and also made them feel more relaxed.
If Wellbutrin makes you jittery, either switch to a different antidepressant, or add a calming drug (like an SSRI or an axiety drug) to Wellbutrin.

Are you hyperactive or non-hyperactive ADD? That might help others give you an answer. If Wellbutrin is stimulating, then I'm thinking you are hyper.
As someone who is not, I can say that Strattera works for me to quell anxiety. I don't know why it works that way, but it does. It doesn't help me with ADD issues, but it does help other people. My own issues call for the classic stimulants.

I am probably hyperactive according to my doc. I really went into a deep depression again all of a sudden along with nausea and stomach acid which I guess is the anxiety part. I decided to take the wellbutrin to get me out of the worst of that since I know it works, but I really want to find a long term solution. I am just trying to find someone who has had success with strattera for both anxiety and depression, if it helps with my adhd then great too. Please clarify for me exactly how it helps you if you dont mind, anxiety, depression, adhd and anything else etc. I'd be soooo grateful....

Strattera worked well as a mood-lifter for me for a few months, and I found it quite relaxing (I was taking it for ADD). Then it just stopped working, so I discontinued it. However, it does seem like a promising med and well worth a try.
A couple of cautions:
1) Increase the dose gradually -- it does have side effects like nausea, dry mouth, etc. for many people. These can be minimized by starting at around 25 mg/day and going up to the typical target dose of about 80 mg/day in increments of 20-25 mg every couple of weeks or so. Don't let your doctor move you up to a high dose too quickly -- some will want to do that.
2) I don't generally have stomach problems, but found that Strattera was likely to cause nausea and/or heartburn if taken on an empty stomach or with coffee.
Good luck!
