Anyone had any experience with Abilify?
I'm currently taking Adderall and Lexapro. I have mild BP2, and, to stabilize my mood, I've previously tried Depakote, Lithium, and Zyprexa. I couldn't tolerate Depakote or Lithium, and 4 mos on Zyprexa did nothing (except make me eat constantly).
Since I'm very sensitive to meds, my pdoc has me starting at 2.5mgs of Abilify this week.
Just wondering if it can help stabilize my mood....
Thanks in advance for your help!

((((memma)))) glad you posted ;-)
My girlfriend Karen is on Abilify and it really helps her :-) I will talk to her and ask her what her feelings were when she first started it. I tried it in the hospital back in April and WOW! My pdoc at the time had me on the highest dose, trying different meds, etc.. and it really knocked me for a loop, but the pdoc was REALLY drugging me up, trying new meds, etc.
I'm hoping for you that other folks can help ya out more. There is tons of information online about Abilify too, and testimonials, message boards, etc.
Take care and check your mail ;-)
hugs to you!
Kristen

> Hello memma! I take Abilify to help stabilize my moods. I was told that it helps control manic episodes. I'm not sure how it would help you if you have Bioplar II, you should ask your doctor. Do you have manic episodes? I'm not sure how effective it is at aiding in the stabilization of depressive episodes. Good luck! Karen Have you tried Topamax? It works like a charm for my depressive episodes. And, I couldn't tolerate Lithium or Depakote.
