What about taking libido enhancers? Anyone tried mixing testosterone with this stuff? I'm taking Buspar and Effexor and very little sexual desire. Erections not a problem but without the libido who cares? This is not like prozac where I transcended past sexuality, with effexor I intellectually desire sex, but don't have the physical drive, the inertia to become that "animal"... I want that "monkey" back on on my back.... I miss it

could be the combination of both...have your testosterone levels tested and talk to your doctor about receiving injection of 200mg. every two weeks of test. i am only 26 and haven't had problems on effexor but did on everything else..try taking l-tyrosine as this is the precursor to dopamine, the feel good chemical. start at 1,000mg. daily (usually two capsules) in the morning on an empty stomach..give it a week or so

Effexor is generally recognised as the most likely AD to cause sexual problems. It affects SSRIs to a certain extent too, especially paroxetine

seriously? i'd never heard that before. my p-doc prescribed a small dose of wellbutrin to help with the sexual side effects, but it made me feel overly obsessive and hyperfocused, kind of anxious too. i take gingko biloba on and off b/c i heard that's supposed to help withe the libido too...i'd probably need to take it more continuously to see any real results though.
