Well, chicken on amphetamines maybe, lol. Today I decided to give Adderall XR another try -- I've kind of put it down in the past because I thought d-methamphetamine and d-amphetamine worked so much better for me. A trial of Adderall in the past was a miserable failure.
Many who know my situation know that I consider d-amp to be a lifesaver for breakthrough depression so why would I give it up? Answer: I still have a good 250 tablets of 10mg d-amp so I figured if the Adderall didn't work, I had something to fall back on -- though I'm doubting I'll need amphetamines for depression anymore (ADD will continue to necessitate them, however). The switch to Adderall XR was merely in hopes of a more convenient way to take my meds -- sustrained-release d-amp just don't seem to last any longer than IR d-amp, and although Desoxyn CR (controlled-release) is available, I don't find methamphetamine to be as motivating as the others.
The fluoxetine is a dream come true after only two weeks... can we say 'no side effects, especially not sexual ones'? lol So I got back from the doctor a couple hours ago and took my first dose of Adderall XR -- two 30mg capsules. Obetrol entrepreneurs, I seek permission to kiss the feet of each and every member of your R&D team, lol. This is a thousand times better than d-amp... a million, even. My physical energy is skyrocketed (unlike with d-amp, which made me want to sleep). I think the only thing that could bring me down now would be a death in the family. In short, sorry I dissed you, my little mixed amphetamine salt buddy. ;-)

P.S. There were some other changes as well to my scripts -- my Klonopin has been decreased from 12mg (4mg x3) to 6mg (2mg x3) daily, and the Xanax I was formerly taking only as-needed at 4mg is now going to be a staple of my regimen at 2mg sublingually three times daily. My new as-needed medications are Ativan 4mg sublingual (for mild Prozac agitation that comes and goes), meprobamate 800mg, and DTO (deodorized tincture of opium/laudanum) 5-10ml (50-100mg morphine) for sleep. The laudanum is just until I can afford to pay for Xyrem or their patient assistance program comes through for me, at which point I'm sure I'll be cutting out several of the anxiolytics as well. The Prozac stays at 20mg for another two weeks, but the way things are going, I doubt I'll have to raise the dose anytime real soon. Quite a cocktail, but sure is great to feel normal without a single side effect! And now, finally free of the fibromyalgia B.S., I'm off to help my mother and sister finish moving our furniture to the new house. :-D
