I took 2 yesterday and 1 today.
I was up until 4am this morning and when I took it today, I layed down, found myself just 'drifting' off to sleep, then waking up, not really in REM.
I 'woke up' in a puddle of sweat, and I have a terrible headache. I feel REALLY sick and out of it.
Is this normal?
has ANYONE felt this way on Ultracet?
Please help.

gal,i would drop the ultracet like a hot potato -- i took it (actually ultram) for knee & back pain for several weeks, thinking that i might get accustomed to its "activating" effects, but alas, it was not to be. it is supposedly a *weak* NE reuptake inhibitor, but if you're extra-sensitive to increased NE, it most likely won't agree with you and you probably won't get used to it. i saw your previous post where you mentioned jitteriness and insomnia -- i had those problems too and they didn't go away. darn shame, cos it's a *great* pain reliever for moderate to moderately severe pain (at higher doses). many people do just fine on it -- coffee drinkers or those who take stimulant meds might not even notice its activating effects. it sounds like you're sensitive though, and might want to steer clear. i'd ask your doc for other suggestions to alleviate your pain (i'm unsure as to its location and severity and wouldn't know what to recommend for that reason).

So, Ultracet IS an opiate???!!! I am going to do a search in a minute, I've felt like **** all evening, hot flashes, nausea, etc.
My PCP knew I detoxed off of Vicodin yet she gives me another Opiate?????
Grrrrrr
NOT what I wanted.
Maybe I should have stuck with Flexeril.
I am not a happy camper I feel sooooo sick and if Ultracet is an opiate I'm OFF it!
Caleb, thank you so much for responding, I need to do a search on 'Is Ultracet an Opiate' and then my doctor is going to get a phone call.
I was stupid not to ask her if it was an opiate in the first place.
This is not good.
Thanks so very much again, I really appreciate it.

Stan, thanks for sharing your experience, I really appreciate your kindness.
I just saw Caleb's post, and I am quite upset at my PCP and myself right now. First, I was stupid not to ask her if it was an opiate, she knew I detoxed off Vicodin in Jan 2002, and had a problem with Vicodin, then she gave me another opiate without even telling me OR even talking about an alternative???!!!! I'm sorry but I feel she should have told me, maybe it's my fault. Oh well. I guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was when it comes to what is an opiate and what isn't.
I HONESTLY had no idea that Ultracet was an opiate, and I am going to do a search because I have felt warm, dizzy, and nauseas beyond comprehension this evening. I thought maybe I was getting a 'head cold'.
I am taking your advice, thank you! I am also destroying the samples she gave me AND the Rx she wrote out. I can't believe this! No wonder I am sick as a dog. Yes, I am very sensitive, and I'm steering clear of that stuff, I have to, I want to!! I can't feel this way and function-no way!
My lower lumbar region is really messed up from a car accident, that's what it was prescribed for, to take the place of Flexeril. I took Vicodin when I was having severe migraines a while back and it got out of control and I detoxed. I just posted about how I miss Vicodin, but Vicodin did not do this to me. I got that 'high' from Vicodin, and it didn't make me sick at all, except that I let it get out of control and abused it.
Thanks so much again for your response.
Take care.

Ultracet sucks, opiates are much better for pain and as far as the way you feel on ultracet, mabye your allergic to it or it's interacting with another med you might be taking.
