Coming off meds, what to expect?

Posted by daizy on October 2, 2003, at 15:46:27

I have been reducing dose by 5mgs, is that too little or too much? I want to do it the way that is least likely to cause a relapse, is there any specific way it should be done? I have been wanting to Cry a lot lately, and generally feel unwell, absolutely no energy at all, could this be down to just a 5mgs change in meds? Anyone want to share their experiences? Thanx.!.

Hope it goes smoothly for you too. Its not knowing what to expect that scares me, I really dont want to start having panic attacks again, life's too short to waste another 2years of it!

Its the mood swings that are bad, one day im fine, the next im crying all day, I hope that doesnt last! It will feel quite strange to med free, good tho!

Are you taking any supplements? Im going to search the site then go and buy some!

Good luck!

Slinky I read that you are coming off Effexor? I have been through that, I hope your getting through it OK. I had the head shocks, and nausea, but it did only last about two weeks, Id reccomend making time to relax, I found little things irritated me immensly for no reason. Good luck!

Hi Daizy..

I'm taking a lot of vitamins..magnesium works to calm me..though I don't need so much calming as I'm sleeping so much.
I'm a bit scared to start tapering from 150 efexor..maybe I'll start monday...I feared I'd have to be hospitalised when i reduced from 225 cause i couldn't look after myself and the few people I know just do not understand.
Wishing you all the luck.
