HUn..

The department of health has just released new Effexor guidelines that involve the withdrawal situation.. They're not perfect, but doctors should now know that they exist.

But doctors are ignorant about alot of this stuff, and need educating.. Fight hun.. don't give up.

Hi Nikki...

..docs don't have time to research cause of paperwork--so i was told.
I give the doc small stuff to read about coming off efexor but he seems a bit arrogant and disinterested.
I'm an expensive patient..I feel like a burden every time i see him.
Oh well, hope you're doing fine.
take care sweet.

Well, let me at them!!!!

I hate doctors that say total rubbish like that... Doctors need educatinbg so so much.. Grrrrrrrr

Yeah.. I'm an expensive patient too.. they hate that.. I was even taken off Zyprexa once as it was too expensive to prescribe.. As soon as I found out that was the reason (my lovely tame GP told me.. but he's since left *pouts*) I kicked up a huge stink (act mad in waiting room, always works a treat in getting you your own way!!)

When I went through Effexor withdrawal, I honestly honeslty believed I was dying.. and couldn't get a damned bit of help off anyone.. it was awful so I really really feel for you hun... but as soon as I felt better again (but still ill enough to be incredibly annoyed) I started really really kicking off about it..
I guess I was lukcy in a way, as my hubby works in the pharmacy dept of one of Londons largest / most respected hospitals and he got the head pharmacist there involved.

Insist on filling out a yellow card (in back of BNF) to report adverse reactions..

Contact Sane (I can't remember Sanelines number off top of my head) as they can also do the yellow card thing.

I'm so angry on your behalf at the terrible treatement you are receiving hun..

And finally, before the steam coming out my ears clouds the screen... Point out that being a doctor, like being a pharmacist, is a constant learning experience.. Its not something your qualify for, and then just stay at that point for ever.. they are meant to learn every day of their working lives.. so saying they are too busy to read stuff on Effexor with drawal is just utter utter c%*&.

Oooh.. let me at em!!!

Hang in there hun.. it DOES pass eventually.. its just so so tough waiting for it to pass.

Nikki xx
