Anyone else had this problem? My BP was normally 90/60 until I turned 30, then it went up to a steady 100/70. My pulse is normally rapid at around 90-100.
I moved this weekend and had chest pains, even 1 hour after resting. My BP was an alarming 151/95 with a pulse rate of 80.
Does anyone take any BP medication with their AD's? Can you take BP med's on an "as needed" basis?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Hi Kim,
I know that my brother takes a blood pressure med with celexa. I will call him tonight and ask what it is - they're in Seattle.
How are you feeling today? My BP seemed to go up on luvox and in the docs office. Could it be anxiety? You probably pulled a muscle with the move, I have done that before and it feels like chest pains - they feel worse when your upset.
Let me know how you are

>Thanks for replying. I don't believe it's a pulled muscle. I'm beginning to recognize when my blood pressure shoots sky-high. That's when I've started using my husband's expensive blood pressure measurer daily. (I've also used it earlier back when I was measuring 100/70). When my blood pressure is rising, I feel uncomfortable in the chest area, slightly dizzy, hot flashes & sweats, etc. It could also be anxiety. I have a major problem with that. But who knows. I would VERY much appreciate knowing what your brother takes.

Hi Kim,
I spoke with my sister in law and she told me the med my brother takes for high blood pressure is called Mavik. He is also on celexa.
I know you already know this - but effexor is famous for causing high blood pressure.
Hope your feeling better. Do something to treat yourself today - ice cream :).
I took today off from work so I am playing hooky!!!

Hi Kimberly, member me? I don't come here often. I was looking for BooksGirl and saw Your post. I'm currently decreasing effexor. I was at 300mgs and depression was minimal...TG. However one of the many side effects I had was increased blood pressure. I now take yet another med to offset a med....I take Lisinopril, 10 mgs day for high blood pressure. I'm down to 112.5 mgs of effexor with no significant side effects other than shooting pains like going out of my arms and face, but just a cpl days with each dosage drop. I had the sweats, lack of energy, trouble concentrating, memory loss, mood swings etc., but I swore on Effexor as far as "fixing" my depression. But my new neuro who says I may have had mini strokes, told me to go off effexor. And that's scary enough to say bye, bye to effexor. I also read some posts about people having ringing in the ear(s). Well I have that to add to my list of problems too. I now have tennitus plus migranes, which I never had before. Hope to hear from you.
Huggs,
Mercedes
