What is a common therapeutic dose of Effexor xr??
My gp had me on 75mg. I personally upped to 150mg, RELUCTANTLY, he is fine with that. I wont get to see a Psychiatrist for 2 more months (getting through the system). As I dont have much faith in my GP, due to his lack of experiece in this matter. Im turning to the "experts" @ PB.

As I understand it..
Under 225mg Effexor works as an SSRI, above 225mg it works as an SNRI.. I didn't get any help from it till over that dose, and most of the time I was on it I was on 375mg.
So you might need to go to 225mg before getting a dose you need.. but 150mg might work for you!
Good luck
Nikki
