I was on 5mg zyprexa for 14months.I tryed to quit serveral times but every time i got nausea, vometing and total insomnia.I know it was the zyprexa because i have never been like that before..Finally 6weeks ago i decided to quit whith this tablest for ever. After 3days i started to vomiting.I was vometing in 8days and then nausea but not vomiting after 11days..The first 5weeks without zyprexa i also got TOTAL insomnia..I couldnt sleep a minut DAY or NIGHT.It was like beeing in hell! After 5weeks nausea are not so often anymore. And i have started to sleep alittle again. So iam much better now after 6weeks without zyprexa. Finally it looks like my body are getting better now..so to all zyprexa users that have total insomnia after withdrawal..DONT give up!!Many times i felt like giving up,but i didnt!and iam very happy now.i was afraid my brain was damaged because i couldnt sleep at all the first 5weeks..not even sleeping tablets helped much..but now i see that my brain have started to finally give in.. and let me to sleep again..I know zyprexa are famous for horrible withdrawal..but dont give up guys!! i made it!!!
(also i didnt get of 5mg cold turkey..i was on 2.5mg for almost 1month..)Eric

Thanks ericcc,
I too have tried to go from 5 mg to 0. I didn't make it past 8 days, I also hadn't gone to 2.5 first. Thats what I will do this time. Same problems, my brain wouldn't function, couldn't sleep, thought I was dumb, but I guese it was withdraw and lack of sleep. The other thing that happened was inability to eat. Doctor put me back on. Did you have the problem of not being able to eat(anything), it seemed to get worse into the withdraw. Maybe it was not as bad comeing from 2.5? I hope! Also I started my withdraw at 10mgs went to 5 for 3 months then 0.

Sounds good! I've only gotten down 1/2 way there. It sounded like this was a recent event for you. So you haven't taken zyprexa since december? Is every thing back to normal?! Like befor the zyprexa!

no you missunderstanded..I tryed to stop with zyprexa last december.and i lost my appetite at once.then i started on it after 2weeks again.but my appetite didnt come back at all!!so i was on zyprexa 8months this year with out appetite at all!iam never hungry!can you belive??something is very wrong.I had good appetite before zyprexa.and when i started with zyprexa i was even much more hungry..but after december last year i have not been hungry at all. not with zyprexa the first8 months this year..and not for 6weeks after quitting..doctors here think the medical have done something with my stomach or small intestine.i took xrays 2days ago and it showed that my stomach are full.and that it dont work like it should.it can be the zyprexa that have done something with my stomach .or that it have done more serious things...but soon i know,.and I will keep you updated..if you wish u can give me your email and we can write to eachother sometimes..

So since starting zyprexa you have only stoped completely for 2 weeks? I'm at half my regular dose now and I have no problems not eating too much, infact maybe not enough, but that is undetermined now.

You might be right. 2.5 does sound like a good dose. Haven't tried it yet. When ever my doctor thinks I'm ready. That stomack problem sounds kind of scary though. What if I realy can't eat with out taking zyprexa? I've always lost dramatic weight when not taking my zyprexa! The last time I stopped, I was slowly getting to the point where I couldn't eat at all. Day 8 of withdraw and I could only drink fluids. After that I have been taking zyprexa every day. Sucks!

wow... if that stuff starts to happen i guess you just keep the dose at that level, don't decrease anymore, until the badness goes away

Ya! It scared me right back up to my 10 mg dose, which I took religiously for the past year (minus 2 weeks for the Abilify). I'm trying again now, and already scared.
These trials tell me more and more that I should get off the stuff for my health, I think the longer I take the stuff the more dependant I will become.

>what do you mean "more dependant", you're not increasing your dosage over time right, you're decreasing it i thought... ?
of course if you don't need antipsychotics, don't take them ....

It seems the longer I take zyprexa, the worse the withdraw is when I come off it.

I haven't asked. Befor when I first mentioned posible withdraw from zyprexa, he didn't think such a thing existed.
