Does anyone know how to get onto a maoi in the uk.
Gp s here cant prescribe them,(or that is what i was told)
It is possible to order them from overseas, but that's expensive and i'm not to keen on being out of the medical loop whilst on a maoi. Also has anyone with severe SAD been helped by maois, benzos or any other particular drugs?

How long ago was this though? My gp said they have gone out of favour fairly recently.

My pdoc has often discussed MAOI's with me.. but as I'm still classed as a suicide risk, and they can be od'd on, he says he would rather I didn't try them.. and I ahve alot of soya in my diet, so thats also a reason to avoid them
(Oh, and I am in the UK!)Nikki x

I'm in the States, though I do know of an online pharmacy based in Europe that provides certain medications with a free online consultation. xxx They have Nardil 15mg at €60 + €5 S&H for 100 tablets.

I have extremely severe social anxiety (so severe that they call it avoidant personality disorder), as well as agoraphobia, panic disorder, OCD, depression, and ADD. Clonazepam and alprazolam have both been lifesavers for me as far as the social anxiety, agoraphobia, and panic are concerned, though from what I understand doctors in the U.K. frown upon prescribing alprazolam for long-term use. Dextroamphetamine also helps quite a bit not only with my ADD, but also my social anxiety -- it makes me more assertive, confident, and out-going. Finally, I also take Ultram (tramadol) which helps enormously with my OCD and depression.

I think those doctors should be licensed where their patients are, so I'd rather you didn't use this site to exchange information about them, thanks.
