I hated Trileptal. It made me "dream while I was awake". I don't know how else to put it. Have you ever experienced that stage of sleep (sometimes while awakening, sometimes wall drifting off) where you have started dreaming, but wou are still aware of your surroundings (i.e., you're lying in bed in your bedroom, etc.)? That's how Trileptal made me feel while I was awake. I would look at a shampoo bottle, it would have the shape of a shampoo bottle, my eyes would interpret it as a bottle, but my mind would tell me that I had just seen a lion or a gnome or something screwed up like that! AGGHH. I hated it.

The only antiepileptic I can tolorate is Neurontin. I've never tried Depakote, but I've tried Gabitril...couldn't handle that either.

hi, my doctor put me on Trileptal and yes I was definately ancy! In fact, so ancy, he took me off and it also wasn't doing a thing for my moods, I'm bipolar. I was very bored also while on it, just felt flat.

hope this helped.
