Posted by ace on June 26, 2003, at 4:08:53

Dude, I've got to go quick (past my bed time!- Nardil is all alone in bed waiting for me!)but I did a search on Celexa. First bit of info- Twice it was mentioned that Celexa is THE most serotonin boosting SSRI. One guy who said it was an MD I think.

2nd- check out this info on it

Hey thanks Babs!

Don't you worry- my crazy posts will continue!!!!! My Mum says 'stop being silly Andrew!' Well, I have to let it out here!!!!

BTW, I saw your post above. How much % is the OCD cured? With the Celexa have you considered any other augmenters? What about Luvox or Anafranil- ever given these a shot? These 2 seem really good for OCD- read heaps of clinical reports/anecdotes on 'em.

Look after yourself Babs- keep searching to crush OCD!

Peace to you too, comrade,

Ace.

Hmm... well I don't understand that. All the SSRIs, at their average dose, end up blocking about the same amount of serotonin transporters. In fact, I remember reading that Celexa only blocked 60%, where all the other SSRIs, at their equivalent doses - blocked 80%.

Ace- I would say the OCD is about 60 % down. i still have the thoughts but I don't get caught up in them and have a physical reaction to them any more. i can look at them and say "Oh, I'm obsessing" instead of believing that they're real. I tried risperdal before and had about the same success rate but have not tried anafranil. Maybe that will be a next step as an augmentation. I'll keep you posetd. All my best to you, babs

Thanks Ace!!!Re: ATTN: McPAC- CHECK THIS OUT!

>>>>>>>>>>>Caleb, would this be a 'good' thing, a 'bad' thing, or just depend on the person?.... (Is that perhaps why it's said to be 'milder' than the other ssri's (less s/e's?)Thanks!

Likely just depends on the person.
