Well, I've tried few different benzos for my SP and klonopin is pretty much the best choice.
I've tried benzos which have longer half-life than clonazepam (medazepam (nobrium)/diazapem (valium) - although I'm aware that the longer half-life of diazepam is because of its metabolites) and no other benzo provided so much relief from my social phobia/anxiety.
From recent studies on clonazepam which show that it works for unipolar depression, I think it has some unique mode of action, besides increasing GABA.

In reply to Klonopin better for SP than other benzos?, posted by btnd on May 14, 2003, at 4:12:50
I've had the same experience. After trying several other benzos, I still find Klonipin to be the most effective for my social anxiety. I understood that it could actually have a depressive effect if taken too frequently, however (maybe I'm wrong).
This is the end of the thread.
