Could someone please share with me on this medication. Super concerned about it since my daughter's new psdoc wants to try it on her eventually.

Have you tried Abilify on her? That might be a good thing if it hasn't been tried yet...

My daughter is already on Abilify and has been now for 4 months. Her psdoc is going to slowly increase it till she get to 30mgs. If she still is not showing signs we want her to which are positive than he feels she should be put on clozapine.
I am just praying it does eliminate the aggression, agitation and irritability she is having. I know with Abilify that is suppose to eliminate symptons like that. We shall see..

Hi.

My pdoc recently spoke of a soon-to-be introduced *liquid* solution form of Clozapine which is reputedly less toxic, therefore requiring less, if any, blood monitoring.

If anyone's interested I'll interrogate him further. It's something I'm keen to try since it is purported to have the potential to reduce negative symptoms more than the other atypicals.

On a separate note, I found Abilify to be an excellent drug, precipitating an improvement in both mood and motivation. Unfotunately the side effects - akathesia (slightly surprising for a partial dopamine antagonist) and chronic constipation (sorry to have to share that with you!) were intolerable.

G'luck.

Jah.

Thanks so much for the infro regarding the liquid form of clozapine. Yes my daughter has been on the Abilify for 4 months, as I have stated in many of my posted messages regarding her and her progress on it, that she is much more alert now than she had been on previous meds.

Her psdoc wants to slowly increase the Abilify up to 30mgs and see how it does. The clozapine is the final med he is looking at.

My concern is the danger of the low white cell count that sometimes poses a problem with some people. Yeah let me know any more infro you do find out. I'm also going to ask my daughter's psdoc about this as well. Thanks again

HI,

I have a terrible problem with OCD/ delusional thinking. The normal APs don't help that much. Would Clozaril be more effective for this symptom.

Thanks,

Dave
