Male Sexual Dysfunction Aphrodisiacs

Posted by Mimi on March 15, 2003, at 10:37:42

Hi Everyone,
Yohimbe gave my partner an itchy, bright red rash over 30% of his body; and, otherwise was not satisfactory in prolonging erection. This rash lasted longer than 48 hours so far. Do you have any suggestions for alleviating this rash?
Do any of you men out there have information about safe effective erection prolongers? Psych meds are not an issue for him.
Buspar is a sex enhancer for me as it counteracts my 4 other psyche meds. Buspar was a great find for me but is not relevant to my partner's situation.
Thanks in advance for all your input!
Mimi

my problem is a little different twist....no erection problem, but very hard to attain orgasm (no pun intended)...learning that woman don't like this....am on Paxil and just added Buspar...any insight on whether Buspar will help? should I skip the Paxil for a few days before? thanks for any help.

I am female, but I can tell you that Buspar does help quite a bit. It counteracts some of the sexual side effects of my 2 AD's, Pamelor and Celexa. I only take 20 mg. of Celexa; any more would kill my sex drive and orgasm ability completely. Suspect that Buspar will help you. In addition, Buspar is a great anti-anxiety med. It is one of the best meds I have taken (i.e. few neg. side effects). You may know that Wellbutrin is the AD answer to sexual dysfunction. SSRI's are all culprits. However, I tried Wellbutrin and almost had to go the hospital due to a servere neg. reaction (i.e. speeding). People do take drug holidays, however, I cannot afford to do that in terms of my lapsing into severe depression. Keep me posted. Mimi

Thanks a bunch. Now tell me how much B-6, zinc, and l-arginine? My partner wants long-standing hope in his rope. HaHaHa.

He still has his yohimbe rash after 70 hours. Yikes! He only took one pill. Will not repeat.

thanks for your input. Maybe I am taking too much Paxil...80 mgs....maybe I increase the Buspar and cut back on Paxil. Doc also introduced trazodone to help with sleeping which is working but need to research side effects there too. Anybody using trazodone successfully?

Trex,
I tried Trazadone, but had horrible side effects. I also was on Klonopin for sleep, but that is very sedating. Currently, I take Periactin which has been a great solution to my sleeping problems. Mimi
