I'm wondering what other sites people regularly pay attention to for updated mental health info or research related specifically to psychiatric issues.
The ones I regular visit are Manisses (manisses.com), Medscape (medscape.com), McMan's Weekly (mcmanweb.com), BLTC (biopsychiatry.com), Psyhciatry 24x7 (psychiatry24x7.com), PubMed (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi), Depression Central (www.psycom.net/depression.central.html), androscience Research Index(neurotransmitter.net).
Please add on your favorites and hopefully we can all pass on a little bit of knowledge to each other. Thanks,
HK

psychiatry.uchicago.edu/groundsUnforunately, many of these sites list the latest "research", and much of that is flawed. With the drug companies sponsoring the major of research (and several websites), most of the data is skewed and misleading.

The support groups are mostly "consumer" run, which I have never been fond of unfortunately, because they aren't structured like a "professional" therapy session. As a friend who is also a pdoc put it, you get great support with often bad advice at these. If you are looking for good therapy in Ontario, try Homewood (in Guelph), which I listed, or the Canadian Addiction and Mental Health Centre (formerly Clarke/Queen Street Mental Health) in Toronto. All's you need is the docs referral, and of course being Canadian it is absolutely free. :-) If you need any other resources for therapy, please post and I will post more.

HOK, of the ones you listed, here's the only one I would add:
www.psychlinx.com, a good daily source of psychiatric news

My fav site is:
http://www.medical-condition.com
you have to search through the different links, but there is alot of great info to be found there.
some of the sites I have found there are:
http://www.mentalhealth.com/fr13.html
http://www.ruralnet.ab.ca/medinfo/specialty/psychiatry.htm
the free medical journals link is fun to look through as well.
