ssri/snri's and sexual side effects

Posted by borderliner21 on February 2, 2003, at 18:13:41

I have tried paxil, celexa, prozac, effexor, wellbutirn, serzone and remeron.
Paxil was the worst in terms of sexual side effects and celexa had the least amount of sexual side effects.
I'd like to hear other peoples experiences on these medications.

Paxil caused sedation, apathy, and anorgasmia.
Prozac caused hostility and anorgasmia.
Effexor was effective AD at first but quickly pooped out; also caused anorgasmia.
Remeron made me feel poisoned; also caused anorgasmia.
Wellbutrin was effective for about a year, and I actually found it to be pro-sexual.
Have not tried Celexa or Serzone.

I have only tried 3. The most sexual side effects for me were on Prozac; then Celexa; and the least on Lexapro. Wellbutrin, Serzone, and Remeron generally do not have sexual side effects at all.

prozac -- total anorgasmia, zero libido
effexor -- slightly increased libido, total anorgasmia
wellbutrin -- no sexual effects either way
zoloft -- significantly decreased libido, difficult to attain orgasm but possible
remeron -- no sexual side effects either way, but remeron made me fat and comatose -- thus I did not feel sexy
