Did any Doctor ever suggest that you might be Bi-Polar? All those reactions to SSRIs (Anti-Depressants) are pretty much what I've gone through in the past. But to go from really bad depression to really bad anxiety and to keep bouncing your mood all around every time you try to take an SSRI really does sound like BP.

Hi there,
I am bipolar. From everything I've read/heard, when you are bipolar, AD's alone can bring on hypomania/mania.
That's how I was diagnosed. I went on Paxil for anxiety and ended up becoming manic.
The good news is, since I was diagnosed and went on a mood stabilizer, I have been anxiety free. And I had anxiety really bad for 6 years.
Have you ever experienced hypomania before? Have you ever felt euphoric?

> thankyou :)Hi there, yes I have talked to you before! Hmmm. Sounds like an all too familiar hypomanic reaction to SSRI's to me. Me thinks it looks like you could use some clonazepam to treat the panic instead. You might try cutting the Zoloft down to 1/4 of a scored 25mg tablet if need be in the meantime. The maximum Zoloft I could ever tolerate was 12.5mg twice daily and that was after a few weeks at 12.5mg once daily...

I am i nthe uk, and the docs here arnt very good, but my freind tells me to stick with these meds untill my next appointment with phsyiciatrist.. well i went to docs today they dont do 25mg pills, so i couldnt really just snap the 50 mg into a 12.5 mg.. anyways i just took another 25mg, the only probs i got are, i feel abit disconnected, dizzy and hyper, i was walking to the docs and felt all dizzy as if i was swaying as i was walking.. i aint been out the house since last thursday so that may be why, but i know my social phobia is still there.. i just feel awfully hyper and anxious... no bad symptoms as of yet.. oops except sunday i was constipated so i didnt take any yesterday and i had a great poo today, but i am starting as normal today, just took 25mg and i will do the same tommorrow..

Are you seeing a regular doctor or a psychiatrist? Can you call and let him/her know what's going on with you?
Just be careful because if you are bipolar, AD's can really send you through the roof. That is what happened to me. I was taking Paxil for anxiety and ended up becoming so manic I was delusional. Not to totally scare you or anything (that does not happen to everyone), but when you have side effects like this it is important to let a doctor know. Preferably a psychiatrist who can properly diagnose you and monitor you.

Is it possible to find a new pdoc? They should always call you back, especially if you are having side effects due to medication they've prescribed.
