Hi,
5000 mg (EPA+DHA) of fish oil has lifted my depression but I'm not sure whether it is the fish oil that is helping with OCD or the clonazepam augmentation to my prozac.
Is there any article on large scale studies of fish oils on OCD?
If yes, pls provide the article or the link.
Thanks!

In the issue of The Lancet,a well-known London medical journal on April 18,1998 I read an article on the the correlation between dietary omega-3 intake and the prevalence of depression in different countries.Go to the search engine of the archives of www.thelancet.com and put omega-3 in the box.

I thought you were asking about trials of fish oil to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I agree that there are no large scale studies on fish oil in OCD but the depression improved here too so I just mentioned one article on that.
The value of fish oil in OCD was something that I discovered myself in May 99 and I wrote about it early in 1991 in three Irish medical journals which are not on the net.I have seen over ten cases by now myself and it is quite widely used as it got international publicity in newspapers in Ireland,Britain and India.Incidentally OCD is one of the major causes of disability in the western world so I am pleased that such a simple remedy works, usually though in association with high doses of antidepressants, mostly SSRIs.I have some further details at www.omega3.20megsfree.com

I'm in Singapore.
