I'm considering using this agent can anyone tell me if you're on and and want to change to an ssri type drug if you only have to wait 24hrs?

I believe it's recommended to wait 48 hours before starting a new drug after stopping moclobemide, but it is not necessary to wait 2 weeks as with the classic MAOIs.

I forgot to add that if you stop moclobemide with the intention of starting a classic MAOI, you should wait the 2 weeks.

Maybe I should wait before hitting the submit button! :) What I meant was the opposite, if you are starting moclobemide after stopping a classic MAOI, it is still necessary to wait the 2 weeks.
Sorry about the confusion, I'm on Paxil and Lamictal and not very smart these days...

Hi Dennison,
Maybe my thinking capacity has diminished due to all the meds I've tried this year, but I'm a bit confused. . .are you saying that you plan on STARTING Moclobemide? And if so, what med. are you quitting?
I myself am presently phasing out Zoloft and plan to start Moclobemide soon (you can see my own post about this from 10/31) and I have been looking to correspond with people who have done the same exact transition, or at least to communicate with anyone on their experiences with Moclobemide. I'd appreciate it if you'd E-mail me at: [email protected] about your experiences with this drug.
This is the end of the thread.
