I'm currently on Seroquel, Serzone, Desipramine and Lexapro for bipolar anxiety and depression. All medicines except Lexapro seem fairly well handled with few side-effects. The Lexapro seems to have one huge effect on my libido and ability to ejaculate. It has a much less activating nature at 15mg than I got on 40mg of Celexa.
Does anyone know of anything that works to counter the sexual side-effects of Lexapro? I've tried Viagra with little success so far. Am I just doomed to live an asexual life now?
Thanks,
Shawn

Do you think you would backslide too much if you took the dose down to 5mg? Try to stay at that dose a few days if you're not sinking emotionally and see if things get better.
I have no idea if you could add Wellbutrin with your combo plus you are on a lot of drugs. Only other idea would be to add a stimulant but I'm not familiar enough w/ your combo to recommend it.
I get sick of fighting that side effect. Killing a persons libido is terrible. Killing the plumbing too is something the researchers better fix. I'm sure there are more frustrating things in the world, but in my 49 years I haven't run across it.

Killing the one-eyed trouser trout is a terrible and steep price to pay, isn't it?

I like the Lexapro. Few side-effects. But, I am 25 and have lost ALL sexual intrest, ability to orgasm and get an erection for the most part. I take Adderall and that DOES NOT help. I am getting mighty pissed at this. My relationship is about to end because of it. Is that a price worth paying? I reduced to 5mgs--no difference.
Part of being a non-depressed person is having a healthy sex-drive. They better get some good remedies quick, because I wont tolerate this side effect for more than one more week. I wont switch seats on the Titanic. So I am less depressed, yet can't have a normal, healthy, sexual relationship.

Could you switch to a med like Remeron, for example?
