remeron,st johns wort

hello.i have depression, anxiety, gad, sometimes panick attacks and a bit of agoraphobia.i went to lots of doctors and have been adviced to take several medications but never took them cause im afraid of them since the worst of my condition came after withdrawing from 1 month taking xanax about 11/2 years go.i also drink quite a lot of alcohol(less than i used to beacause i feel terrible the next day when i drink too much and it makes me have worse anxiety attacks and need to take xanax or clonazepam or a benzo)i still drink quite often to help me calm down.ive been told by psychiatrists to take remeron, wellbutrin, prozac, klonopin, etc.i dont trust doctors so easily iand i dont trust brain medication so i havent taken any of these yet.however ive done lots of research and the most reliable seems to be remeron.is the sedation caused by it so bad?is it much worse or similar to benzos?i remember long time ago i once took zyprexa(nevermind why,it was long time ago and just took it once)and i slept for about 24 hours straight.i never took it again.is remeron able to cause that?is it dangerous to drink alcohol while on it?how about not taking remeron the days i know i will drink some alcohol?also i got some st johns wort from a well known brand and i am thinking about trying it first before i go for the remeron.im also interested in kava but first im interested in trying sjw.ive read that its a mild maoi(monoamineoxidaseinhibitor) and that it can interact with some medications.do i have to take the same care as if i was taking a chemical maoi?like waiting 2 weeks before switching to another antidepressant?on the bottle it just mentions some medications that can interact like transplant medications, hiv medications and ssris.im thinking this may not be complete.is it as dangerous as taking a regular maoi??i don think so but do the same interactions and warnings apply?does it interact with all antidepressants?alcohol?foods?anesthesia?benzodiazepines?kavakava?valerian?i first thought it was pretty harmless and bought it the second i saw it but now that i know it is some kind of maoi im worried.i dont want to take it before im sure about all this.ive also seen a variation of the product called kava john that contains sjw as well as kava so i guess they dont interact.also ive heard sjw can interact with strong sunlight and im planning on going this week to a beach where theres a lot of sun and its very hot.so i dont know if i should take the remeron or the sjw.any advice will be welcome.sorry for the long post.thanks.

Please use paragraphs and proper punctuation.

I really wanted to help you but as soon as I began to read your post, I developed a throbbing migraine. Huge unbroken bodies of text frighten me.

Everyone responds differently to the Remeron with regards to sedation. Some people will get knocked out for a long time day after day whereas for some the sedating effects wear off quickly after the first few days and don't cause much of a problem. If you had lots of trouble with Zyprexa, I would say that you might have trouble with Remeron, but you never know. I didn't have any trouble with Zyprexa except for a little oversleeping, only by a couple of hours, and I haven't had too much trouble with Remeron since day 1. It's a great medicine, except for the weight gain and sedation, and it's up to you to decide if these are things you are proned to be affected by. For some, the weight gain can be counteracted by adding Wellbutrin, which is what I'm doing. But in the case of the people who's sedation does not improve after a week or after increasing the dosage, the med just might not be the best for them.
Good luck.

Oh yeah. You shouldn't be drinking alcohol if you have problems with depression. And I doubt that you'll get much help from people on this forum if you state your problem as 'etc, etc, and also I drink a lot of alcohol'. That's a pretty pointless stipulation, seeing as alcohol is a depressant in the first place. Quit drinking and get healthy!

I just started it pretty recently. It's my eighth day on it and I haven't noticed much of a difference, but from a lot of people are telling me the true effects really take around four weeks or more to kick in. I'm taking Lithium also.. and hopefully, this will be the right combination.

Drop me the URL if you don't mind. I would like to take a look at what the people are saying about it. Thx, good luck
