I have no insurance. I take 150 mg. effexor and 40 mg. fluoxetine. At Walgreens this costs me $240 a month. I drove to Windsor, Canada and paid 35% of this. The drugs were about half price and the Canadian dollar is 71% the U.S. dollar (50% times 71%= 35%). Not all drugs will be cheaper in Canada. I understand some people are doing this over the internet but I wantd to check out the pharmacy (besides, at $1.50 U.S. to each Canadian dollar you can eat really well in Canada).
If you live near Detroit and want to know about my experience, let me know. I am not here pitching any druggist, only to say that this can be done.
When I came back through Customs, the U.S. inspector asked me if I had bought anything. I said, "Two months worth of prescription drugs." He said, "What kind?" Oh gosh, here comes my shame. I'll be put on a list of my own. I said, after a pause, "Antidepressants."
He smiled, "Have a nice day."(p.s.: Customs will apparently let you bring back 3 months at a time but never checks your prescription. The rest of my prescritpion -- a full year's worth -- is kept at the pharmacy and they will mail me more when I need it. Also, btw, they will not ship adderall/dexedrine/ritalin, etc.)

Yeah, we're all rich...until we become depressed, then the doctors and drug companies take our money. I'd rather be depressed in Canada, even it means I have to learn to like hockey and Labatts, then be sick in the U.S. :)
