A couple of years ago I found I had a lipoma tumor on my back. I know they are not dangerous. For the last several days, I have been very sore in that spot (middle of spine) and after checking it out it now looks like it as grown somewhat. It's about 2 inches long now. Should I get it removed? What can I expect from this?

Did you say "tentacles"? I don't have a clue what you are talking about. Please explain.

If it is sore it is probably time to see a doctor to confirm the diagnosis and to make the decision whether or not it should be removed. They can become quite big and unsightly.

Thanks for that. I have already called a plastic surgeon. Family dr. won't remove it. I really dread it, thanks for the input.

Nothing to dread. Lipomas are right under the skin, easily removed, dr. just totally numbs the area. Ask for a well-done scar!. I had an ordinary md remove mine (on shoulder) and he did a botch-y scar, what did he care.
It only took a few minutes, BTW, and then I went home. No biggie.Zo

I had one removed from my neck in Feb.
Outpatient procedure, took about half hour.
Not much pain afterwards at all, I was surprised.
They will check for malignancy as part of the deal but this is VERY rare.
This is the end of the thread.
