exhausted on celexa

Posted by katieb on May 1, 2002, at 21:19:45

hi, i wonder if anyone else has found that celexa has made them really tired? i'm taking 3 hour naps everyday after getting 8-9 hours of sleep. i'm not sure if this is from the drug, stress, or maybe bordom.

I was very tired the first couple of months but then it let up. I stil get tired but not as much. I take 40 mg. Cherry Coke helps me a lot.

The new version of Celexa, called escitalopram or Lexapro, will be out in the next month or so. In clinical trials it caused less drowsiness than Celexa. I plan to switch when it comes out.

I've been taking celexa for nearly a year -- still tired and need a nap in the afternoon. I don't sleep well at night. BUT, I am gladly trading fatigue for a positive attitude about living. Doc may begin weaning me off celexa in a couple of months. I'm scared to death.

Good luck to you.

I've tried both in the a.m. and in the p.m. and I still am tired all the time.

Still open to suggestions.
