Hi.
I don't know why I'm wasting my time with this. I should be doing laundry.
http://sl.schofield3.home.att.net/medicine/psychiatric_drugs_chart.html
This is a work in progress. It might not progress any further than this, though. I was going to call this a labor of love, but it is more like an act of insanity. I'll update it from time to time should I continue to work on it.
Please post any suggestions, corrections, or additions.

That's pretty cool.
Do you also do career related web programming, or is it more of a hobby?John

It is more of a distraction. I know only the most rudmentary of HTML coding. It is pretty cool, though, when you actually produce something useful or constructive.

Scott - many thanks for this - it's so useful to see all the medications 'at a glance'. In the UK we usually have different brand names; do you think it would be helpful to include those? I could start off with the ones I know.

Hi Lizzy.I've tried to include the names used in the UK and other countries. I would be glad to add the ones I have missed. Please post a follow-up here listing the names you don't see. You can use the "FIND" function of your Web browser to check if they already appear on the chart.
I have decided to include dosages. I won't be able to update the list for a few weeks, as I won't have FTP access to my website. However, I will be able to post on Psycho-Babble, so I can work on the list in the interim. Anything you can suggest will be helpful. Thanks.

Hello again Scott!
Wow! What you get up to when you're busy :o)
Seriously good stuff--or should I say, some seriously good work Scott!!!
The List has good and thorough (as one can be at this point in time in pharmacology) research; it is very easy to read; covers a lot of ground; covers a lot of meds; includes trade-names, brand-names and European names; and is well organized even with some info still missing!
I have one suggestion, which isn't needed by most of us who will be reading it; but may prove useful for the newcomers.
Your 'Legend' (i.e. "Abbreviations:"), which is fairly large but quite straightforward, may need to be located in and able to be accessed from more than one place. I know you don't want to labor over the trivial stuff when your efforts are put to much better use keeping the actual list updated, but it might a good idea for a rainy-day project.
Perhaps a separate html page that only houses the "Abbreviations:". That way, one can have that window up but downsized as they're going through the full list.
I know there are more complicated methods of doing this (i.e. JavaScript pop-up's) but a simple and small html page would do the job just as well.
Now ignore my suggestion section and revel in the concrete, identifiable, observable, and cyber-tangible work you have so graciously and beautifully done!!!
Love it!

Hi Dove.
It’s nice to see you too. I make it a point of reading your infrequent posts whenever they appear. I always find them to be insightful and relevant. Your sensitivity seems somehow spiritual, and I am often emotionally refreshed after reading them. Thanks.

I know you don't want to labor over the trivial stuff when your efforts are put to much better use keeping the actual list updated, but it might a good idea for a rainy-day project.I guess I should have made it more obvious, but one can click on the asterisk that appears at the beginning of the list of properties. It will take you directly to the abbreviation list, from which you can hit your “back” button to return to the your previous location. I will try to come up with a more readable set of symbols for the properties box.
> Perhaps a separate html page that only houses the "Abbreviations:". That way, one can have that window up but downsized as they're going through the full list. That’s an excellent idea. I’ll put that at the top of my list.

Flattery will get you everywhere!
I’m glad the list is of some use.

Scott, Dove's idea was great. You could still use your current list but just include hyperlinks for the acronyms (abbreviations) that would pop up into a new window that links it to a seperate page of acronyms. That way, it's not as hard as a small pop-up window, simply a hyperlink. If you're not sure you know how to do it, e-mail me & I tell you how in nice, simple terms (something I need). :-)
