I am taking Manerix/Aurorix for a week now (150 mg/d) and it seems to me that it makes me sleepy and a foggy head. Shouldnt it be stimulating and "clearing" in the head?! Or is it my depression that got worse ?!

I found it quite stimulating, but you know we all respond differently so who knows. I felt it's activating effects within a day or so and it did interfere with sleep. I loved the med, but unfortunately it made me hyper anxious. (I tend to have that thing going on so YMMV).

As with all MAOI/moclobemide be careful with using added stimulants, as they can cause blood pressure problems...
I believe buproprion is acceptable as an augmenting and stimulating antidepressant with Moclobemide though (http://pandora.nla.gov.au/nph-arch/O1998-May-8/http://www.medfac.unimelb.edu.au/ap/volume18/issue4/ap18-4-9.html)

It is right to be careful but:
My pdoc combines it often carefully with Methylphenidate as TCAs or SSRIs as well instead of the theoretical interactions. It depends on individual metabolism ! There are cases of serotonine syndrome with the use of SSRIs or Clomipramine alone. The SSRI Citalopram (Celexa) isnt recommended to be given more than 60 mg/day. There are a few pdocs titrating up to 140 mg/day ! if somone have a partial response and poops out at each new dose step.
And especially moclobemide is metabolized by 2C19. An enzyme with polymorphism: that means population with normal/slow or fast metabolism -- > resulting great differences in plasma levels! Ultra rapid metabolizers need moclobemid up to 1800 mg ! This is seldom but can be fatal if the pdoc means the patient isnt responding (at normal doses) because he isnt aware of the patients matabolism !With > As with all MAOI/moclobemide be careful with using added stimulants, as they can cause blood pressure problems...

That is good concrete information. Thank you for that.

I increased Manerix/Aurorix now to 300 mg/day but cant find any stimulating effect on my physis or on my psychis as well ! I feel sleepy, tired and foggy head with no relief by adding 10 mg of Ritalin and two cups of coffee. Is it my depression (coming back after weaned of Paxil - > was good but got a bad liver reaction after 6 month) or is is the meds side effect ?
People react so different and sometimes paradoxical. Should I stick to Aurorix ?!
I reacted best to SSRIs concerning mood but but they made me tired. Edronax (Reboxetine) was very stimulating but didnt affect my mood ..means poopd out very fast (more placebo effect ?) and was unbearable because of side effects (urinary hesitancy). Effexor was not bad but I had allways headaches (only on 150 mg). But it was with Celexa together, so it could be a try worth alone ?!> I am taking Manerix/Aurorix for a week now (150 mg/d) and it seems to me that it makes me sleepy and a foggy head.
