> Should people on seroquel watch out for diabetic?Unlike some of the other antipsychotics, Seroquel (generic name quetiapine) isn't known for increasing diabetes risk, although there have apparently been a few cases of high blood sugar linked to it.
It certainly couldn't hurt to get screened for diabetes a few times a year while you're taking Seroquel, especially if you're overweight, over 40, or have a family history of diabetes. Many hospitals or clinics will give you a quick "screening" (i.e., fingerstick test) for free. This isn't the "official" diabetes test, which involves lab analysis of blood drawn from your arm, but it can give you a rough idea of whether there might be a problem developing. If so, it can likely be reversed. But again, Seroquel appparently isn't likely to increase blood sugar.

I know Seroquel affects hormon including insulin since it is metabolized by the liver. I will have a blood test soon.
