I have been on Effexor Xr for about 6 months. I have been on 225 mg for about 6 weeks. After 4 weeks of being at the 225 mg level, I felt such a huge difference. But for the past few days, I have felt grumpy and irritable somewhat. I also take 50mg of Trazadone at night for sleep also. I am sort of "on edge" also. I am not sure why. Do you think I need to increase my dose. I called my pdoc and waiting for him to return my call.
Thanks!
Debbie

Debbie - As with any disorder for which one is treated, there are still going to up and down days. A few days of being down is normal. Just because we take an antidepressant doesn't mean that we won't still have emotions. If your mood remains low or gets worse over the next week or so, then is when your doc should consider an increase in dose. Your doc knows you far better than I could. Let us know what he says. Good luck - Cam

That was a quick response! Thank you! So hopefully I will feel better in a few days. My doctor told me the same thing. I think I am also coming doing with something. I have had a headache and sore throat for a couple of days as well! Thanks Again!

Headache and sore throat.
I can tell you that many times I felt slightly "down" or "not myself" in a weird, discouraged way and then found out the next day that it was a virus setting in. Illness really does effect your mood. Hopefully that's all it is - one of those normal ups and downs we can't escape, the common cold. Rest up!
