Hi everybody,it's me again. I've got another Prozac question.
I noticed an increased anxiety on Prozac. This is my fourth week on Prozac and i feel slightly better (more like "my old self"), but i just can't handle this anxiety!
Yesterday morning i had a panic attack. My sleep is lousy.
What should i do? Should i hold on until this anxiety eventually fades away?
Moreover, i'm worried about the serotonin syndrome: I'm taking Prozac (40 mg) with Tofranil (100 mg). Thanks for listening

In your shoes I would reduce Prozac to 20mg and add 2.5mg to 5mg of Zyprexa. Sleep should improve immediately, while the anxiety should mellow out in about two weeks. That has been my experience anyway. Prozac and Zyprexa go together like peanut butter and jam. Very good combination.
One thing to keep in mind is that Prozac will interfere with the metabolism of Tofranil, which means the Tofranil in your system is likely much higher than what you would expect with a 100mg dose. Prozac can increase the blood levels of tricyclics anywhere from two to nine times higher than the dose taken. Whether that plays a role in how you are feeling or not I do not know, but it is something to be aware of.
