I recently received information from this website, thinking it to be from another patient. I was wrong. It's clear that the drug companies monitor websites like these and respond with encouragement to take their products. Be very careful...and read the book Prozac Backlash by Joseph Glenmullen...it has alot of information and is extremely helpful. Be knowlegable BEFORE you take any of these medications!!!! (Or you'll end up hooked forever like me.)

I think it would only be wise to monitor activity on a board so active as this one when it comes to actual consumer's opinions. Any good company should monitor these types of boards (and Dr Bob's is one of the best). I'm not trying to say that their interest is altruistic but they should be aware of what we are saying about their meds.

james here....
I hope they do. Given the overall sucess of pharmaceutical business I highly doubt they plant
"agents" here when they can afford national advertising. Anyway, I owe my life to Effexor, ootherwise I would suffer greatly.James

Perhaps they follow the discussion. Afterall, it is a ready focus group, lots of info on what consumers are thinking and feeling about med issues.
But I highly doubt they would stoop to impersonating a consumer to plant suggestions to use their brand of medication. I think the risk to them is far greater than any real benefit they could realize from doing this.
Yes, the drug companies are often big and powerful and promote their own interest in profits, but it doesn't mean that we should jump into believing every conspiracy theory that comes our way.

Warning??? What could possibly be more welcome than having the pharmaceutical giants learn a few things from this 24-hour real-life focus group? The ideas shared here could lead to new or better-utilized treatments that generate $$'s and improve peoples' lives at the same time.
Oh, but wait...as I look through the posts, I see what you mean...there are some meds that absolutely EVERYONE seems to love!!! Especially that sneaky Xanaprolexazolofexorbutrinitalin SR.

Respond how? By email, or by posting a reply here?
