Tina,

I've rec'd 2 e-mails from you today. Were there others? I'm not having any trouble on my end that I'm aware of, all my e-mails seem to be coming and going OK. Maybe your e-mail server is experiencing trouble?

Greg

You got the one with my answers to the questions you asked me (if you know what I mean)?

I don't think it's my server. The message reads "[email protected] has transient non-fatal errors, unable to send message" Confusing that you got the e-mails though. What do you make of that?

Yuppers (which means yes in Greg-talk). I think you are getting erroneous error messages on your end. We people here in the States don't have computer problems.... it must be a Canadian thing. (I crack me up!) ;^) How goes your day, dear?

You're not sending from Cam's Mac by any chance, are you? That would explain a lot.... And that's erroneous, not errogenous. Probably not spelling either one of them correctly anyway....

Wonder where that all-knowing, all-seeing god of the alberta wilderness is anyway. I think this thread is eroding into a pit of silliness. I like it though--makes me laugh (without effort) Thanks--T

Janice, which province are you referring to? Next week I'm going by myself on a 1 1/2 week "Mom's week away" to a Provincial Park near Parry Sound, Ontario. I went last year for a week & I'm having the same campsite - a huge one backing onto rocks, trees, & if you walk a bit, Georgian Bay. I'm tremendously excited. I loved it last year. Time to be just me & nature - nobody else to take care of or be concerned about.

Hello Kath,

I was referring to Alberta as I am currently living here, and so does Cam. But actually I am a fellow Ontarian (Toronto). I love nature everywhere, well no bugs please. Somehow I believe the sounds, or lack of sounds, are calming and soothing for my psyche.

Enjoy your trip. And, of course, be careful of bears (my personal phobia). Janice

I wish I could come.

Hi Janice - My personal phobia too!! It's the only thing I'm quite nervous about, and to a lesser extent rattlesnakes, but I WALK LOUD, so I don't think they're much of a worry. I'll let people here know how my holiday goes. I leave on Thursday.

Kath

Hi Kath, I had no idea Ontario had rattlesnakes. Hmmm, something else to add to my phobia list.

There are always bear bells, but somehow they take the enjoyment out of a walk. I've heard that most bears see us before we see them and quietly slip away.

But you definately don't want to surprise them. Walking loud is good Kath.

Take care and enjoy yourself, Janice

Hi Kath,

This morning while getting ready for work I briefly saw a woman being interviewed about her documentary of kids that turn to drugs. She herself had been like this, and her goal in her documentary was to take the myths away about kids and drugs--how people think the kids come from bad homes, or are abused, etc.

I thought you might be interested. It's a National Film Board documentary called 'No Quick Fix' by Cazabon. The NFB makes excellent documentaries. The few times I've watched their documentaries, I've sat fascinated for 2 straight hours, and usually they were about some seemingly boring topic.

Enjoy your trip, Janice

Had to check it out on Mapquest ... I've only seen the other shore of Lake Huron. When I lived in Michigan, I was headed north to the U.P. and a vacation on L. Superior's shores when I noticed that James Bay was about as far from where the UP meets Ontario as that point was from Detroit, so I half had it in me to drive up and see Moosonee ... problem was my cheap, US-centric maps had all the roads stopping halfway there.

So, I went across the border to the visitors center in Sault St. Marie, got a REAL Ontario map, and found out that the roads stop halfway to Moosonee.

So, anytime anyone wants to fly into Polar Bear Provincial Park (since it's a long way to canoe), let me know.

cheers,
bob

Hey Janice - THX for the name of the film. I'll look into it when I get back from Mom's week (10 days) away. I'm so "besited" (as my kids used to call "excited"). So So SOOOO besited!!!

I might check in briefly tomorrow before I go.

Take care, Kath

Ya - it's pretty amazing to look at all the road-less space on the northern part of the map!! I'll let you know if anybody's headed that way, but don't hold your breath!! I don't think I know anyone quite that adventurous.

Take care. Kath
