Hi Tina
I noticed you were having anxiety with Celexa and I wondered if you'd tried Remeron. It's more of a sedating AD than Celexa and it helps some people with IBS-D. I can't remember if that describes you or not. Appreciate the help.

Hi Danny: Can't help noticing the anxiety I have with celexa--You can probably feel the ground shake from where you are. Where are you anyway?(not specifically, just general geographics) Anyway, What does the D mean in IBS-D? I've been diagnosed with IBS but no D. Just curious. I'll ask my doc about Remeron, sounds like a good place to go to from here(hell). Thanks for the info-Take care- Tina

Tina,
I took Remeron for a long time, initially for depression (didn't really help me there, but may work great for you) but at the end to help me sleep. It has a tendancy to make a lot of people very tired. If at all possible, you might want to take it at bedtime, at least until you see how you are going to react to it. My doc and pharmacist said that the tiredness would wear off after 2-4 weeks of use, but it always made me tired until I started using higher doses (45mg). But that's just me, YMMV. Hope this helps, and remember, I love you, man!Hugs,
Greg

Hi Tina: My address is in San Diego,(but I'm also spending my share of time in hell) . IBS - D (diarrhea) C (constipation), or C & D alternating (me). Most people seem to be D. There is also a new, expensive drug for this, Lotronex. Hang tough.

Hey Danny: Thanks for the clarification, you'd have to classify me in the IBS-DC group too--never know when or where. Strikes randomly. It runs in my family though, all the women have it to some degree. The new drug you mentioned Lotronex isn't available up here in the Great White North to my knowledge but I will ask my doc if she's heard of it. Again, thanks for the support. This thing gets me pretty down in the dumps sometimes. Take care--Hugs...Tina
