celexa

Posted by tawnp on November 26, 1998, at 17:42:24

I have been taken off paxil due to the weight gain and tight jaws and neck. The doctor now has me on Prozac. This is only for 1 month untill she has a chance to research Celexa. The Prozac has seemed to diminish my sex drive already. Does anyone know about Celexa first hand. I have already researched it thru the internet and articles. Any help would be greatly apreciated, I feal like a yoyo with headaches a nausea coming and going..Help

I am possibly going to change from Prozac to Celexa for depression. I have finally lost my excess weight and absolutely do not want to gain it back. Does Celexa cause weight gain or increased appetite?

I've been on it for about 6 weeks and that hasn't been a problem. From what I've read it is associated with weight loss, not gain.>

Celexa hasn't effected my weight. I find its much better than Prozac. Less side effects. Life is good. 5 mos. now.

I've been on Celexa for 6 mos.(40mg for 2 weeks then reduced to 20mg.) I had the surreal, dreamy, foggy feeling for about 2 or 3 weeks. After that I felt great. I haven't had any other side effects other than the inability to achieve orgasm but that went away after about a month and a half. Things were fine until about 6 weeks ago. Now I have a mild case of apathy. I don't really care about anything. I can still have fun and don't really feel depressed, but my overall attitude is "Whatever". I mostly just roll my eyes at people's problems when I should probably feel a little compassion. (Could just be my personality!)Mostly I think it's just BOREDOM. I try to stay busy, but getting motivated is difficult. I don't know if it is related to the Celexa or not, but I have gained 5 pounds in the last 6 weeks. I don't think my diet has changed that much, but I have begun to watch what I eat a little closer. Does anyone know if you can reach a plateau on this med. I don't really want to increase the dosage since the side effects are so minimal right now. Also I take synthroid for thyroid disorder and a mult-vitamin. Does anyone know of drug interactions with these?

thanks for listening, CJ

I have been on Celexa and have gained 10 pounds.
I know now that I must excercise. I tried to stop
taking the medication and that didn't work. I started getting those
old panic attacks again. All in all it's great. I take 20 mill..

Hi, I've been on Celexa (now 20 mg.) .50 of Klonopin for about 2 weeks now. What's strange is when I take a nap (and only then), I wake up in a type of panic, and it takes a while for it to subside. Anyone else experience this? Also, I feel a little better but no drastic results yet. I have GAD (and some OCD),
