I'm still processing things a bit. At some point someone (sorry, I forgot who) said, "Toph, I thought you were younger." Puzzled because everyone was being so nice and complimentary, I couldn't figure out whether I was just dissed or not. So, did that mean I look old? Or are my posts so feekin' immature? I best think again the next tme I have the urge to post about man boobs or inflatable sex toys. Of course maybe she was saying I look mature... naaaah.

I've been back since last night and posting on admin and psychological. Thought I should check in here.

It was great. I wasn't scared. Babblers are friendly and kind in person as on the internet. Dr. Bob didn't make us feel like research subjects, either. It was fun.

Count me in for Babblefest '06. I have a passport that is current and no arrest warrants that I know of. ;)

p.s. Toph, you look just fine at any age.

where were you? did you look for us? :-) I know we were in chicago, and there was water around...sometimes and sometimes not...and we were in restaurants at times and at other times we were in other places. Down town is my best guess but I dont know chicago that well. And we had fun!

why didn't you come??

Well i'm 18, so I didn't have many transportation options ( i live in a suburb outside of chicago called oak lawn) and the main reason..
my grandma was sick the whole week, she died thursday, attended wake - friday and funeral- saturday.

When I said we are still here and all together, that wasn't exactly accurate. Some folks had to leave, so the group that was together was a bit smaller.

So we were missing Toph, annierose, Dr. Bob, spoc, and rainbowbrite at the time of the post. Didn't want them to feel left out.

That was me, d'oh! Sometimes my brain to GG filter just gets these really big holes in it, and I just blurt stuff.

Of course I didn't mean you were old. I didn't mean it as a dis. I just associated you with the avatar from the other site, and even though I knew that picture was not you, it's just what I had in my head. It had more to do with that than the content of your posts.

And I think you are lovely, funny, handsome, and dare I say it??? Sensitive. I like that. I liked meeting you.

Sorry if my blurt came out wrong.

And feel free to post about man boobs or sex toys all you like. Those concepts are ageless, imo. ;)

Nah that's ok it actually made me laugh

there was water around...sometimes and sometimes not...and we were in restaurants at times and at other times we were in other places.

HHAHAH, that is hilarious no matter what the circumstance I'm in..

Just strange, how'd you get to where you were if you didn't know where you were in the first place>?

Mike,

I'me very sorry to hear about your grandma. I hope you're doing alright.

I grew up in Bridgeview, neighbor. :)

Take care,

I've already told my husband I'm going. (No request, this time. Makes him too anxious about having veto power.)

The first shows I remember as a child were Howdy Doody and Davie Crocket. I hope its a good thing to sound young. My kids think I'm hopelessly out of touch.

Toph. You were exactly as I had pictured you. I think you had dropped hints about your age, or I had picked it up somewhere. You looked your age, but young for your age, I thought. (Not immature. Young and healthy.)

And you look like someone who would own exactly the type of dog you own.

Do I look like a toy or herding dog owner? :)

Question for all.

I would like to share as much of the experience as I recall, in excruciating detail. And I not only want to do this because I had a great time, and want to share it, but also so that there will be less chance of "in jokes" and experiences not shared.

But I'm afraid it might come across in another way, like rubbing it in or something.

So let me know if you want to hear my Chicago trip story, and I'll be happy to post.

I would LOVE to hear about your Chicago experience, inside jokes and all!!! I would have liked to have gone, but it was not possible for me this year. That, however, does not mean that I would begrudge anyone who did go the opportunity to talk enthusiastically about the experience, and to share as much of the experience with others as possible. I will live vicariously through those of you who went, and picture in my mind the fun and comraderie all of you shared.

I say - Bring it on!!! Share, Share, Share!!!

This is dangerous gound.

I expected you to appear like a librarian or someone scholarly, dour and serious. Happily you turned out to be this attractive, cheerful, playful woman who I sadly had only a brief opportunity to talk with. As far as dogs go, something tells me that herding is the operative word here.

I'm still trying to get Dena out of my head. ; )

Hi Dinah

I would love to hear about your trip in excruciating detail. Hehe, you should see some of my astronomy trip reports...they look like essays. :-)

Please feel free to share anything you feel comfortable sharing...I promise to hang on to your every word. :-)

Being wet wasn't that big a deal. We all seemed comfortable with the predicament. I have many other images of Poet in my mind from the day.

Although I did advise my girls that night to never wear a white blouse if there's a chance of rain! ; )

I was a little freaked out by Bob saying goodbye, followed by the wind suddenly picking up, bolts of lightning, and then the skies pouring down with a vengeance. Like the great and powerful Oz had spoken.
