OK, so I think we have a workable idea here. But we need some design help. Our resort would be for folks whose therapist is on vacation and they are feeling lost or sad or lonely. One of the reasons our resort would be special is because it would be assumed that you were missing your therapist and so the focus and comfort would be geared to that. You wouldn't have to hide this, which is one of the harder parts of all of this. Maybe we could put GG in charge of substitute therapy staff or activities.
OK, so far we've established that we will have plush bungalows and a shopping mall full of shoes. You can have a roommate or a single. There will be lovely soft pjs to wear. Daywear is casual, shorts, t-shirts or jeans. Bras are optional. :)
I want a well stocked library, classics and new stuff. I also want fast internet hook up and Star Trek reruns. The kitchen must stock COW and cheesecake and Starbucks coffee.
OK, your turn. What additions to our design can you make? What would make it ideal for you personally? Be creative and have fun!

Every flat surface would hold a box of kleenex.
Every bed would have an extra large stuffed animal which is about the same size and shape as our T. :-)
And every night we'd toast marshmallows and eat S'mores and sing bawdy tunes.

I love this! Thanks for starting it Daisy!
I think we would need every flavor of ice cream!
A nice Koi pond with a waterfall so we can feed fish and listen to the splashing! A slumber party every night. And all the movies that they ever made to be available to us. A personal chief like Oprah has, hair salon, A nice orchestra playing as you drift off to sleep in a nice comfy bed with lots of pillows, 600thread count sheet, a fluffy down comforter, and babby chicks and bunnies to pet! Breakfast in bed, I would stay in my pj's all day! and big bunny slippers! :)

Can we have a big box of kittens? And labrador puppies? And super soft slipper socks, and canopy beds and gregorian chant?

I think we need to have the bungalo be a beach house. For sure breakfast in bed!! We could all hang out on the beach and dig our feet into the sand. We'd have waiter's come and check us every hour to see if we needed any ice cold drinks or food. I'd order a giant Diet Coke with a fresh lime.
We'd have the choice of having a massage, a pedicure, a manicure, and a new hair style!
WE'd have group therapy 2 times a day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon or late evening. We'd stay up and watch movies and have pop corn! And defintly wireless computers with a fast connection!!
I think it would be great if our T.'s paid for it! Just to say "thanks for letting me vacation at the expence of your heart"!!!!!!!

I don't know about the massage stuff. I guess we need choices. I'd pass on the touching stuff. Especially my hair.
And sand. Ick. Not for me. But I'd like a deck out to the ocean. That would work. Can we be by the ocean and still have Koi?
And sorry, no orchestra. We need Reba, or Wynonna or Tim McGraw. Or better, PP&M. Definitely gonna need more than one bungalow.

>Koi are not salt water fish, but we could have a pond next to your deck by the ocean! :) Koi are so cool, I have mine almost tamed by now , and them I am going to work on training them to hand feed. It is so relaxing to watch fish, swim. I wish I knew how to swim. I guess we need life jackets for me next to the ocean, even if it leaves weird tan lines!

Yeah I think I want to bunk with messadivoce so we can listen to gregorian chants. I am sorry daisy, I don't do country, it makes me want to kill something! Just kidding! lol

Can I come too? My T will be away the week after next, but I miss her so much when I leave that it's like she's away. I wouldn't need much (although I like the way you described it!). I just want someone to sit with. I will bring my doll and chocolate chip cookies. I feel very little.

Comfort, huh?
Grilled cheese sandwiches.
Fresh baked goods, and the smell of them.
Long, long walks. Hiking trails, but not killer ones, just comfortable ones.
Vistas.
Fresh flowers.
A green lawn to sit on, maybe above the ocean, to watch the sun go down. The rattle of ice in glasses, soft talk, gentle voices.
A scented garden.
Cuddly resident animals of any sort.
Rocking chairs, gliders, swings, hammocks.
Massage. Absolutely. Often. Maybe massage classes too where we could practice on each other.
Quiet.
Platters of ripe, sliced tomatoes.
Alone time.
Together time.
Friendship.
This wouldn't be for me when my T goes away, but more for those times when I need to be nurtured.
Kind staff.
Strawberry shortcake, the real kind, made with biscuits.
I don't need the shoe thing. My feet only like Mephistos these days.
Thanks Daisy. Let's go.

Yeah, I'm kind of a nerd. I have a degree in music, and I guess if you're not a music geek then your chances of experiencing gregorian chant go down. But I love it!! I would love to be your bunk buddy!

I always hated camp food. What is the name of this camp, anyway? Well, there will be no frozen veggies or mystery meat here!! Cooking is therapy in itself. So I will be willing to act as presiding chef!
For breakfast--baked swedish egg cake, bacon, strawberries and melon, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and tea.
Lunch--grilled chicken breast sandwiches, caesar salad, any kind of potato chips, and chocolate pudding.
Dinner-steamed fish with spinach, garlic, rosemary and oil, spinach salad, some kind of pasta, and creme puffs.
There can also be vegetarian and/or vegan selections, but I'll admit that I have NO experience with vegan cooking. I'll need help with that (bring in the tofu experts pronto!).
That's only a sample menu of course. ;-)

I also like them but a steady diet of any music makes me a little edgy. Throw in some Bach cello suites with some old Joni Mitchell music once in a while, and I'd be happy in the music room.

I got to know the cello suites by listening to Paul Tortelier's recording, which I loved. And then a couple of years ago I got my hands on Pablo Casals's recording. Wow! I adored Tortelier, but I just went straight to heaven without passing Go when I heard Casals.
I don't think I know any Joni Mitchell, but I suspect I would like it.
I would be pretty happy if we could also have some blues in the music room. Preferably all kinds of blues; from the early Bessie Smith stuff to boys with expensive guitars.

What great ideas! I think we need a Mr. Roark-type, or maybe Mrs. Garrett who would meet with us to determine exactly what we want in our bungalows. And there would have to be a community gathering place of course, with places to sack out there if you wish.
My fantasy would be to have fresh flowers in my room everyday. Each day a different bouquet or flower. Doesn't need to be fancy, just new and fresh and lovely.
Aroma therapy, guided meditations, a waterfall, singing birds (only on cue, not when you are trying to sleep!), dogs and cats (okay, I'll be fair...but only non-allergan producing cats!), sing alongs of old 60's and 70's tunes, lavendar-scented sheets and sleeping masks, of course a wonderful chef who makes scrumptious and healthy food as well as yummy treats, games, books, arts and crafts, sleeping all day if you wish, staying up all night talking (AllDone, we could certainly do that!), nothing at all which is threatening or scary.
sigh

I like them too. I was a music major for one semester in college.
But I do like variety. Bach, Debussy, and (not just to make Daisy happy, I like them too) Peter, Paul and Mary.
I'll bring my guitar and we can sing pretty folk songs.

Who qualifies to check-in? Must we have a T who is on vacation, or may those of us who have terminated, been dumped, or otherwise lost our T's attend?
Are shoes absolutely required? I'm all for having shoe shopping readily available and I'm very in to owning fine footwear, but when it comes to relaxing, barefoot is how I like to be. Plus, I think my feet are my best feature. Sadly, as I age I fear I am developing cankles so I'd like to show off the feet and ankles while I can.
Other things I'd like to see:
Featherbeds - I saw some mention down comforters, but we need featherbeds too.
A kick**ss air conditioner in my room so I don't get too hot b/w the featherbed and down comforter.
Staff especially for keeping me company until I fall asleep.
Comfort food that's miraculously calorie free.
And would anyone be willing to brush my hair? It's red (natural), shiny and soft so it wouldn't be entirely unpleasant.
