ive just read on a website that medication can make someone psychotic. read here again GEODON CAUSED IT WITH A PERSON!!!!!
http://www.pmulcahy.com/misc_pages/my_thoughts_on_mental_illness.html
seroquel makes me feel good but what about the psychotic thing i experienced with it? propably because i took it only once a day
The Geodon made me psychotic. Hallucinations were more severe than ever, paranoia was extreme, and with what little was left of my sanity, I stopped the medication cold turkey, and refused to see the doctor. As the paranoia subsided, I eventually saw Dr. Penny again, and he put me on what I am on now, a combination of Risperdal and Celexa. The Risperdal is sedating only to a slightly lesser degree than the Loxitane, and I generally sleep 12-14 hours a day. The Celexa caused gas and cramps the first month I took it, but then went away. My weight (I lost the additional 50 pounds within 3 months after stopping the Valproic Acid), I put on 9 pounds, but now my weight has stabilized.

Hi J,
>ive read something geodon is causing this, well im off the drug and I ThINK I HAVE IT, BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME
You haven't taken any Geodon for a long time. I don't think its the cause. I suppose it's a possibility though. I don't know...

Hi J,

Did it cause hallucinations, delusions or paranoia?

Sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to redirect follow-ups regarding lecithin to Psycho-Babble Alternative. Here's a link:

Hi J!

Well that's a good sign at least. What did your doc say about this?
>i am schizoaffective disorder since i was 14 years old, i self diagnozed me
Does your doc agree?

Hi Jeroen, A lot has been discussed today. As usual I defer to Ed as he's the expert. All I can do is add support and ask what does your doctor say your diagnosis is? Fondly, Phillipa

Hi J :-)

Have you ever heard voices?
>addon, i do have paranoia
Hopefully the Seroquel will help the paranoia. Tell me what you decide to do :-)

Remission of Tardive Dystonia (Blepharospasm) After Electroconvulsive Therapy in a Patient With Treatment-Refractory Schizophrenia.
Journal of ECT. 21(2):132-134, June 2005.
Sienaert, Pascal MD *; Peuskens, Joseph MD, PhD +
Abstract:
Tardive dystonia is a movement disorder dominated by involuntary muscle contractions that may be tonic, spasmodic, patterned or repetitive, associated with the use of dopamine-receptor blocking agents. Most of the patients with tardive dystonia present initially with blepharospasm. Treatment of dystonia is generally disappointing. A patient with chronic paranoid schizophrenia who developed blepharospasm is described here. Blepharospasm remitted after a course of electroconvulsive therapy. Remission was sustained until 3 months after stopping maintenance electroconvulsive therapy.

Hi J!
>WHY ISNT HE GIVING IT ME TWICE DAILY?
He probably thinks that it will reduce the daytime drowsiness if you take it once daily at night. After you've been on Seroquel for a few days, you could start taking it twice daily instead.
Kind regards
~Ed
PS. I wouldn't have ECT either. I just thought it was interesting how the TD disappeared.

i once read TD was gone taking 400 mg, no sign of it
but what if i feel ok at 100 mg of seroquel and TD is less? should i go upto 400 mg or higher
i think seroquel can surpress the TD
if its not helping ill try Clozaril
ive read it can reverse TD in 6-12 months
its worth a try!

Hi J :-)
>but what if i feel ok at 100 mg of seroquel and TD is less?
Stay on 100mg!
>should i go upto 400 mg or higher
No. You should take the minimum dose which reduces your symtoms.
>its worth a try!
I agree :-)
