Yeah, they're proud of their weirdness. I guess we all are. Its why Austin is usually everyone's favorite place in TX.
> I ate at a place called "Sonic"- fast food drive up place that I don't have where I live. It was very good.
That made me laugh! I sure wasn't expecting you to say Sonic! Think of someone saying that about the most common fast food place around in your area. Oh, and DID you get a cherry-limeaid? Its s-o-o-o good! Especially in the summer when its triple digits.
>It was pretty warm there considering it's February.
Yeah, its warmer down there than up here, but its been pretty nice here. We're supposed to get a cold front this weekend though and it'll be down in the 20's. Yikes!
> I like Texas a lot, but it's a different world than the one that I come from. It seems I am a "liberal". I sort of suspected it, but it has been confirmed ;-).
This is what I've been trying to explain for a long time, in many different posts - what an outsider I am being a liberal in Texas. Isn't it crazy? And smothering?
> I like to travel I guess. People live so differently in different places. I knew that of course before, but it's good to get a sense of it first hand. There are so many places to visit!
Yeah, I'm dying to see the New Mexico/Arizona area. I've seen Hawaii, the mountains, the beaches on the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, the New England area in the fall, and Minnesota in the winter, but I've never seen the desert.
> but for now...I'm glad to be "home"
Its always good to be home. I'm glad you had a safe trip back.
