I am one of those annoying people who think that things happen for a reason - not to make light of your situation at all. I am terribly sorry about what's been happening for you these past months. The reasons for what happens are not usually clear.
I also believe that you are a remarkably resilient and capable woman. Have faith that your family will overcome this hardship as well.
