Dinah,
If you decide to go there, I can give you a name for a wonderful psychiatrist (or do you only see a therapist?). Anyway, this doctor has been a lifesaver for my family (he has seen my grandmother, now my mother and father).Anyway, yes, Huntsville seems safe with natural disaster's minus the occasional tornado. We had a big one hit in 1989.
If you haven't been there in a few years, you will be surprised at how much it has grown. Every time I go back ( I usually go home once or twice a year), I am just amazed at all the new building and businesses.
Yes, the school system is good- "South" Huntsville is notorious for excellent schools. If I moved back, I'd make sure my kids' were in that section.
I miss the South. I miss Alabama. I miss Huntsville.
*sniff* I am about 2200 miles from home. I've been here 7 years now (south of Seattle) and although it has "grown on me", it will never be "home."If you go to Huntsville, please let me know. I'll tell you some good places to visit (especially restaurants).
