> Tabitha, I got "Confederacy of Dunces" after I read your post. I'm about 1/3 through it so far. It can make me very uncomfortable because I AM IGNATIUS J REILLY! I feel like my life and behavior track his virutally point-for-point. Yoix.

pseudoname,I had to laugh when I read your post. At first I thought, wow, he really has guts to admit on a public forum that he is like Ignatius! Then of course I realized that, if you are in fact like Ignatius, you wouldn't give a fig what anyone else in the unsavory masses would think!
I read Confederacy a number of years ago and just dug it out recently to lend to a friend when it was included in the NYTimes list of best American ficiton for the past 25 years. When she returned it last week I started rereading it. Due to my bad memory, I don't remember how it ends. But it sure is full of great characters!
BTW, in trying to find your post to reply, I googled Ignatius on dr-bob. Check it out. There were a few Confederacy threads on the books forum back in 2002, and at least one other babbler who proclaimed "Ignatius c'est moi!"
