Possibly. Caffeine as a stimulant works in a different way than classic stimulants like amphetamine and cocaine. Its much milder. Rats will not self administer caffeine in a way similar to cocaine or amphetamines.

Mania and certain phases of psychosis (typically associated with elevated dopamine) can be associated with extremely creative patterns of thought and behavior. Some people use stimulants to enhance creativity and other people claim that simulants slow their mind down and reduce creativity.
