In reply to why did my doc prescribe high doses of ketamine, posted by poser938 on April 2, 2012, at 18:56:31
> I've been thinking of calling my pdoc's office, because all i've read about is how "low dose ketamine" helps with depression. doses at around 0.5mgs per kg of body weight, or even lower. but my doc prescribed 100 to 200 mgs of the nasal spray, and all it does is make me dizzy and knock me out at when i take it before bed. and he prescribed it to be taken every night and then i have another appointment with him in about a week.

I'm confused as to why he has me taking so much ore than that.I, too, was surprised by the amount of ketamine your doctor prescribed. Is it possible that it takes more medication when used intranasally as compared to i.v.? Perhaps he has access to more recent literature regarding the use of ketamine in depression. Of course, he may be mistaken.
Please let us know. I hope ketamine works for you.
