Although it may sound like no big deal (and I agree, compared with what some people are struggling with, it is no big deal), my main problem is that of attention and motivation.
I've benefited greatly in mood rom reducing the Lexapro to 2.5 mg/day. I no longer feel like I'm being crushed flat, and I actually enjoy/look forward to stuff. However, I just. can't. focus. I can't lower the dose enough to allow me to focus on one thing for more than 10 min, it seems. I never had this problem in my life before SSRIs. It's seriously affecting my work as a grad student, and also affecting my self esteem. I don't want to add Ritalin (which my pdoc offered), so I'm thinking of asking her about Wellbutrin.
Diagnosis: recurrent melancholic depression
Meds: Lexapro since Sept. 2009
