Okay, I was thinking of your post just before going to bed.
Many people here live with brain damage of one sort or another. Some of us know what happened, some of us don't. Lately, I'm trying a multi-pronged approach. Meds and brain 'food'. I'm not the one to give specific advice on this--there are others more qualified and knowledgeable. I'm starting slow--fish oil, amino acids. Have you tried adding this approach? Right now, I'm using a book called 'UltraMInd". I'm not boosting it by any means--it happens to be what came my way and is written in an easy, step by step, laundry list way that my mind can handle.
I'm hoping to add something like Tai Chi as well. (Physical injury prevents yoga.) I don't know. To reconnect and rebuild body and mind. I hope I don't sound too naive. Meds alone don't, haven't done it for me. BUT I do need the right meds. (And my therapy.)
It sounds to me that you've done much self-work already. Keep on going, and try, try, try with the self-compassion you spoke of in your post.
warmly, and with more than my two cents worth,
fb, another work in progress
