People have really different reactions to different benzos. I find valium to be really depressing but like klonopin. I think one of the main considerations is the half-life of the benzo. Klonopin has a very long half-life so should avoid ups and downs. It is prescribed for sleep but doesn't really do that much for me even though I take one at bedtime. I just haven't gotten around to tapering off it since I am tapering off seroquel. Remeron is the only thing that has worked for me for sleep. It knocks me out and keeps me asleep. I have not had appetite problems with it. Some people also think it's a good AD especially when combined with effexor or pristiq- which I also take.
